Privacy policy.

The short version
aerozone keeps your runs on your iPhone. There’s no account, no cloud, no analytics and no advertising. We don’t receive your heart rate, location or run data, and we don’t share anything with other apps.

What the app uses, and why
The app asks for these permissions. Each one is used on your iPhone only.

You can say no to any of these, or change your mind later in your iPhone’s Settings. Without Bluetooth, aerozone can’t read your sensor. Without Location, outdoor runs have no pace or distance. Without Apple Health, you can type in your resting heart rate.
The app also stores the details you enter (such as your max and resting heart rate and your bands) and your run history, including routes from outdoor runs, all on your iPhone.
What we don’t do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising.
- No servers: your run data never leaves your iPhone through aerozone.
- No sharing or selling of data, and nothing sent to other apps.
- Apple Health data is never used for advertising or shared.
Purchases
Any purchase in aerozone is made through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment, and we don’t receive your payment details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to your purchase.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, aerozone’s data is included in that backup, which Apple handles. The backup is controlled by you and Apple, not by us, and aerozone itself never sends your data anywhere.
Deleting your data
- To delete everything, delete the app. Your runs and settings go with it.
- To delete a single run, swipe left on it in History and tap Delete.
- To stop aerozone reading Apple Health, open the Health app and change aerozone’s access.
The website
aerozone.run sets no cookies and uses no analytics or trackers. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Emails to support
If you email support@aerozone.run, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to help you, and delete it when it’s no longer needed. Emails are delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to our Gmail account, provided by Google, whose servers may be outside South Africa.
Children
aerozone isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone through the app.
Your rights under POPIA
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because the app keeps your data on your iPhone, in practice this applies to support emails. Email support@aerozone.run.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) through its eServices portal at inforegulator.org.za/complaints, or email enquiries@inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this policy
If we change how aerozone handles data, we’ll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
